The intense summer sunlight rapidly raises room temperatures, increasing air conditioning power consumption. However, the precious winter sunlight warms rooms, helping to save on heating costs. To resolve this conflicting need—“blocking summer sunlight while capturing warm winter sunlight”—the transparent hollow micro-particle film “Air” was developed.

The greatest secret behind “Air” lies in the densely packed “hollow particles” within the film. This special technology is the key to achieving a comfortable indoor environment year-round. These minuscule hollow particles, invisible to the naked eye, are uniformly distributed throughout the entire film. Each one functions like countless tiny insulating materials, trapping layers of air within the film. Since our founding, we have pursued the potential of transparent glass films. “Could we create an insulating film that maintains transparency while offering energy savings and thermal insulation?” The answer we discovered lies in utilizing hollow microparticles. These particles, with their internal cavities, possess heat-blocking properties and hold the potential to achieve high transparency without compromising views. After repeated prototyping and overcoming challenges in transmittance and adhesion, we finally created “Insulating Film Air.” This film, which contributes to building energy efficiency and enhances window comfort, is an innovative solution bringing new value to the windows of the future.
Innovation embedded in the adhesive, achieving both thermal insulation and anti-splintering performance
We thoroughly investigated which layer is optimal for incorporating hollow microparticles as an insulating film. We discovered that dispersing them in the adhesive, rather than in the base material or topcoat, maximizes thermal insulation performance. While aerogel alone has a reflectivity of 28%, uniformly mixing it into the adhesive reduces solar radiation transmission by up to 19.3%. This achieves both energy savings and thermal insulation while maintaining high transparency. Furthermore, maintaining adhesive properties ensures shatter-resistant performance. This provides peace of mind during disasters like earthquakes and typhoons. “Air” is a next-generation, high-performance glass film that achieves energy savings, insulation, transparency, and shatter resistance all in one layer.

- Can I install it on the window myself?
- Air uses strong industrial adhesive, requiring specialized tools. We recommend installation by a professional film installation company.
- How many years does the effect last?
- Based on weathering test results, durability is estimated at approximately 10 years; however, the actual service life may vary depending on the usage environment and amount of sunlight exposure.
- Is there a warranty?
- The manufacturer’s warranty is valid for 5 years. This warranty covers initial defects in the product. Scratches on the film surface after installation are not covered. For installation warranties, please contact the respective installation company.
- Will applying it to windows prevent deterioration of furniture and other items?
- Most causes of fading and other deterioration are due to ultraviolet rays. Air blocks 99% of ultraviolet rays, protecting against UV-induced degradation. However, UV degradation is not the only cause of deterioration. Other factors, such as aging and heat damage, can also cause deterioration.
- Would it look out of place if I put it on the window?
- Air is a film with 85% transparency, so it won’t make windows extremely dark when applied. Since it contains hollow micro-particles, we recommend checking the transparency with a sample before installation.
